Abstract: SummaryThe North American Prairie plant Eurybia spectabilis (Aiton) G.L. Nesom (Compositae: Astereae: Machaerantherinae), the showy aster is illustrated and described, along with indications of distribution, habitat and ecology, flowering time, etymology, conservation status and vernacular names.
