Abstract: Background cCMV infection is a major contributor to childhood neurologic and cognitive disabilities including sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). Neonatal treatment with ganciclovir/valganciclovir improves hearing outcomes, but its impact on neurodevelopmental outcomes remains an important knowledge gap.
