Abstract:Background
For the management of serious S. aureus infections, area-under-the curve to minimum inhibitory concentration (AUC/MIC) applied dosing is recommended as the preferred method to goal trough-based monitoring. This pharmacodynamic dosing demonstrates efficacy with optimized exposure and decreased nephrotoxicity. While two levels are ideal for estimating AUC/MIC mathematically, the logistics and costs may outweigh the benefits of this approach. This study will compare AUC/MIC estimates … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
