“…This was a pioneering work in the transformation of halophytic species and opened a door to transform other species as well as to extend our knowledge on the response to salinity in plants. Some years later, Uchida et al [ 53 ] carried out the transformation of A. gmelini callus with A. tumefaciens cells harboring the pBI121 plasmid.
