153Sm3+ and 111In3+ DTPA derivatives with high hepatic specificity: in vivo and in vitro studies

Abstract: Two DTPA derivatives, a mono-amide derivative containing an iodinated synthon, DTPA-IOPsp (L ) and the ligand DTPA(BOM) and In chelates of L and L show some structural and dynamic differences in aqueous solution, as studied by H NMR spectroscopy. While only two nona-coordinated isomers were observed for the La complexes with both ligands, its number is much larger in the In complexes, with both octa-and hepta-coordinated species (with unbound side arms), as well as structural isomers for each coordination numb… Show more

“…In order to gain further insight into the in vivo behaviour of the trinuclear Gd 3 L, we performed biodistribution and dynamic g scintigraphic studies in Wistar rats using the Sm 3þ analog complex where the gadolinium was replaced by a mixture of radioactive ( 153 Sm) and non-radioactive samarium (22,23). The scintigraphic image obtained 200 s after tracer injection of Sm * 3 L is shown in Fig.…”

“…To complement the MRI data, biodistribution and dynamic g scintigraphic studies were performed in Wistar rats using a metallostar solution where the gadolinium was replaced by a mixture of radioactive and non-radioactive samarium (13,14). The scintigraphic image obtained 200 s after tracer injection of 153 Smmetallostar is shown in Fig.…”

“…cells [2,3]. According to the authors' knowledge, however no attempts have been made to prepare radiolabeled therapeutic 153 Sm-complexes for in vivo studies, except for bone seeking palliative agents such as 153 Sm-EDTMP [4,5] and 153 Sm-PDTMP [6], as well as some radiolabeled antibodies [7] and 153 Sm(III)DTPA for hepatic disease targeting [8]. 153 Sm (T 1/2 = 46.7 h) usually prepared by neutron activation of natural and/or enriched 152 Sm 2 O 3 [9], can be an excellent therapeutic radionuclide, due to its medium energy beta particles for targeted therapy modalities, for developing radiation therapy compounds using small ligands [10,11].…”
