This is consistent with the results reported by Jenkins and Monk (1951) that the larger the size of the ligand (in a complex) or the alkyl tail (in tetraalkyl ammonium salt), the smaller the ion-association constant. Any change in the association for a particular complex on passing from one solvent to another is due to the different extents of association in solutions.…”
