Abstract: Callosbruchus maculatus (Fab.) is a cosmopolitan species of bruchids and is popularly called as cowpea weevil as it is a major pest of Vigna ungiculata (L.). However it attacks a number of edible legumes in addition to V. ungiculata in different regions.
