Abstract:The reaction of [LGa−GaL] (1) (L=dpp‐bian=1,2‐bis[(2,6‐diisopropylphenyl)imino]acenaphthene) with 4,4′‐bipyridine (4,4‐bipy) results in the formation of complex [L2(4,4‐bipy)2Ga2] (2). The reaction of 1 with 1,3‐bis(4‐pyridyl)propane (1,3‐Py2(CH2)3) affords 1D coordination polymer [L2(μ2‐1,3‐Py2(CH2)3)Ga2]n (3). Compounds 2 and 3 were characterized by 1H NMR and IR spectroscopy; their molecular structures were established by single‐crystal X‐ray analysis.
“…29,34,35 For instance, the addition of an excess of CO 2 to aluminum oxide 1 leads to the formation of carbonate [(dpp-bian)Al(μ-O) (μ-CO 3 )Al(dpp-bian)]. 19 Reactions of 1 with an excess of phenyl-and cyclohexylisocyanates proceed in the same manner. During the reaction the isocyanate inserts into only one Al-O bond of oxide 1 regardless of the reactants ratio (Scheme 1).…”

“…[30][31][32] For a deeper understanding of the reactivity of compounds with Al-O bonds, we have continued the study of oxide [(dpp-bian)Al(μ 2 -O) 2 Al(dpp-bian)] (1). 19 Here we report the reactivity of compound 1 towards carbodiimides and isocyanates, as well as its catalytic activity in hydroboration reactions.…”

“…[14][15][16][17] Most of the alumoxanes stabilized by bulky ligands are dimeric molecules with one or two oxobridges. 8,18,19 There are also rarer examples of compounds with a double AlvO bond [20][21][22] (Fig. 1).…”

“…Interestingly, digallane [(dpp-bian)Ga−Ga(dppbian)] easily reacts with N 2 O in toluene in the presence of pyridine to afford the gallium oxide analogous to 4. 33 The diamagnetic 4 was characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopy. Its molecular structure has been determined by the single crystal X-ray analysis.…”
The reaction of dialane [(dpp-bian)Al–Al(dpp-bian)]
(1) (dpp-bian = 1,2-bis[(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imino]acenaphthene)
with N2O results in the formation of oxide [(dpp-bian)Al(μ2-O)2Al(dpp-bian)] (2). The reaction
of the thf adduct of 1, [(dpp-bian)(thf)Al–Al(thf)(dpp-bian)]
(3), with N2O affords oxo-bridged [(dpp-bian)Al(thf)(μ-O)Al(thf)(dpp-bian)]
(4). The addition of carbon dioxide to compound 2 leads to the formation of carbonate [(dpp-bian)Al(μ-O)(μ-CO3)Al(dpp-bian)] (5). Diamagnetic derivatives have
been characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy and paramagnetic
compounds by electron paramagnetic
resonance spectroscopy; their molecular structures have been established
by single-crystal X-ray analysis.
“…36,37 So far, only a few coordination polymers derived from dpp-bian and the related tetrakis(imino)pyracene (TIP) ligand have been reported. [38][39][40] While dpp-bian acts as a terminal ligand in coordination polymers of calcium, strontium and gallium, 39,40 the TIP ligand serves as a bridging one in complex with Cu 2 Br 2 . 38 To build-up coordination polymers of alkali metal salts of the dpp-bian radical-anion, (dpp-bian) 1− M 1+ (M = Li, Na, K), we have chosen 4,4′-bipyridine (4,4′-bipy) to act as a linker.…”
Treatment solutions of (dpp-bian)M (dpp-bian = 1,2-bis[(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imino]acenaphthene; M = Li, Na, K) with 4,4′-bipyridine (4,4′-bipy) affords coordination polymers [(dpp-bian)M(4,4′-bipy)m]n, (M = Li or K, m = 1; M = Na, m = 2).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
