Abstract:BTDs (2,1,3-benzothiadiazoles) are fluorescent heterocycles widely used in different applications, including biomarkers, sensing optical devices, OLEDs, organic transistors, and solar cells. This review mainly focuses on the current progress in the design of compounds derived from the BTD core, aiming for their use as chromogenic and/or fluorogenic devices for detecting anionic, cationic, and neutral analytes. Reactions and synthetic strategies that show the synthetic versatility of BTDs are initially presente… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
