(2,2′-Bipyridine-κ2N,N′)bis(4-hydroxybenzoato-κ2O,O′)lead(II) monohydrate

Abstract: The reaction of lead acetate, 4-hydroxy­benzoic acid and 2,2′-bipyridine in aqueous solution gave the title complex, [Pb(C7H5O3)2(C10H8N2)]·H2O. The asymmetric unit contains one PbII atom, two 4-hydroxy­benzoate ligands, one 2,2′-bipyridine ligand and one uncoordinated water mol­ecule. The PbII atom is hexa­coordinated in a distorted tetra­gonal-bipyramidal geometry and is chelated by four carboxyl­ate O atoms and two N atoms.
