“…In a study of some distal hydrazine analogues of quinacrine and other acridine derivatives as potential antimalarial and anthelmintic agents [265] Recently, 4-chloro-oc, oc' -bis(5-chloro-2-hydroxyphenyl)-2, 6-xylenol (CXVI) [G-6lO; 2,6-bis(2-hydroxy-5-chlorobenzyl)-4-chlorophenol] was isolated as a by-product in the synthesis of dichlorophen [266]. This compound was shown to be much less toxic than dichlorophen in that admissible doses in mice were up to 10 g/kg, whereas under the same conditions, the LD50 of dichlorophen was 1.58 g/kg.…”
