2-Dimensional Multi-Release Software Reliability Modelling considering Fault Reduction Factor under imperfect debugging

Abstract: Introduction: The present research was conducted at the University of Delhi, India in 2017.Methods: We develop a software reliability growth model to assess the reliability of software products released in multiple versions under limited availability of resources and time. The Fault Reduction Factor (frf) is considered to be constant in imperfect debugging environments while the rate of fault removal is given by Delayed S-Shaped model. Results: The proposed model has been validated on a real life four-release d… Show more

“…In this context it is necessary to speak of " nanotechnologies " as fields of knowledge related to controlled fabrication of nano systems or nanostructures at the 100 nm length scale in areas such as: materials science, information technologies, energy production and storage, food, water, and environment, among others. Regarding NBIC platforms, the creation of new fields of knowledge and new technological products is imminent and will radically modify lifestyles: from educational processes, through the rise of new professions and disappearance of many others, to the improvement of life expectancy [67], [68]. In conclusion, if new NBIC technological platforms bring with them something inevitable, it is not -for now -the annihilation of death, but a new industrial revolution.…”

“…The first step is to mathematically model the FRP to represent the relation between the number of faults removed, resources and time utilized for testing. The model used to represent the FRP was proposed by Anand et al . (2018).…”

“…Pachauri et al (2015) considered inflexion-shaped FRF for multi-release software. Anand et al (2018) presented a two-dimensional SRGM considering delayed S-shaped FRF. Aggarwal et al (2019) presented an SRGM for multi-release software systems incorporating FRF and error generation.…”

“…To formulate the optimization problem, the fault removal of the software is modeled by the NHPP-based Software Reliability Growth Model (SRGM). A number of SRGMs have been established in the literature for designing release policies and study the failure tendency of software systems (Aggarwal et al , 2017; Anand et al , 2018; Chatterjee and Shukla, 2017; Gautam et al , 2018; Huang, 2005; Pachauri et al , 2015). These policies are devised during the planning phase to ensure minimum cost involvement in the development process by maximizing the reliability of the software.…”
