2-Pyrocatechuic Acid Attenuates Carboplatin Induced Hematological Toxicities in Wistar Rats

Abstract: Hematological toxicity or pancytopenia produced by carboplatin chemotherapy tends to limit the clinical usage of carboplatin as a potent antineoplastic agent. The current investigation was aimed at evaluation of the protective activity of a plant phenolic acid i.e. 2-pyrocatechuic acid (2,3 dihyroxybenzoic acid) against hematological adverse effects induced by carboplatin in Wistar rats.
