“…In another experiment, exogenous application of EBR at optimal concentration was found to be effective for improving resistance against anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides in mango fruit. The mode of action was by activating defense-related enzymes, increasing total phenols, flavonoids, lignins, and propectin levels, suppressing pectin hydrolases, and controlling Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) levels and antioxidant enzyme activities in fruits of mango [84].
