29.1: Unified Study of Twisted Nematic Reflective Modes for LCoS

Abstract: We present a unified study of the field-on and field-off states of NB and NW twisted nematic modes for reflective LCoS devices using an approximation called the uniform layer model. This model is used to determine the conditions to achieve reflective modes with both high brightness and high contrast ratio. By applying this model we discovered a new series of NB modes with thin cell gaps.
