Abstract: Pyloroplasty or pyloromyotomy is often undertaken during esophagectomy to improve conduit function and potentially reduce complications. Minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE) frequently omits a pyloric procedure. The impact on peri-operative outcomes and the need for subsequent interventions on the pylorus are unclear.
