“…The Pb(II) behaviour is mainly determined by its large size (ionic radius 1.32 Å, covalent radius 1.54 Å and van der Waals radius 2.00 Å), which allows a variety of coordination numbers and its 6s electron pair play a role in the stereochemistry of lead(II) complexes [10]. In continuation of our work of PbOFs [11,12], we have studied complexes of Pb(II) metal ions with 3-methylpicolinic acid (mpic) and itaconic acid, since less attention has been given to these ligands [13][14][15][16][17].
