40-3: Fabrication of a Wire Grid Polarizer on Liquid Crystal Display Using Nano-imprinting Lithography

Abstract

We fabricated a wire grid polarizer by using nano-imprinting lithography onto a 3" liquid crystal display (LCD) panel directly. It realized 19.3% higher luminance than the LCD panel using conventional polarizer with DBEF and 68.5% higher than the LCD panel using conventional polarizer. It enabled to reduce both power consumption and thickness of the LCD panels.
