5.2: Invited Paper: TFT‐LCDs as the Future Leading Role in FPD

Abstract: TFT‐LCDs are now facing challenge of AMOLEDs in various applications. This paper discusses some critical comparisons between TFT‐LCDs and AMOLEDs, specifically focusing on power consumption and device life time. Also this paper discusses the importance of light throughput and manufacturing cost reduction by the in‐cell technology of TFT‐LCDs.
