Abstract:Torsion of the stomach a s a cause of vomiting in infancy is common. A collection of gas raises the transverse colon to a position between the Iiver and the anterior abdominal wall, and the colon, being attached to the greater curvature of the stomach through the gastrocolic ligament, twists the stomach forwards and upwards.
