58‐1: Invited Paper: High Resolution IPS‐LCDs Fabricated with Transparent Polyimide Substrates

Abstract: Plastic film IPS-LCDs were fabricated with transparent polyimide (PI) substrates. Conventional transparent PI substrates have a large coefficient of thermal expansion and cause high retardation in thickness direction. We developed a new fabrication process and sheet design that improves upon these characteristics.
