58 open clusters investigated with UBVRI andGaiaeDR3 data

Abstract: We present the results of the investigation of 58 open clusters using UBVRI CCD photometry (Johnsons-Cousins system) and Gaia eDR3 data. The membership probability of the stars in the cluster’s field was determined from a maximum likelihood method using Gaia eDR3 astrometric data. The fundamental parameters of the clusters were determined using a robust global optimization method to fit theoretical model isochrones to UBVRI ground-based and Gaia eDR3 photometric data respectively. We estimated mean proper moti… Show more

“…In addition, we also compared the proper-motion dispersions of our new OCs with those of CG20. Figure 13 shows the distribution of OC candidates identified in the study have similar smaller dispersions to the known OCs, which show the characteristics of a real cluster (CG20; Dias et al 2022). Figure 10.…”

“…pyUPMASK is a Python package for UPMASK (Krone-Martins & Moitinho 2014) used to estimate the membership probability of each input star. pyUPMASK has been widely used in the determination of member stars of OCs based on astrometric parameters (Cantat-Gaudin et al 2019;He et al 2022b;Bai et al 2022;Dias et al 2022).…”

“…In the past few years, the Gaia mission has provided highprecision photometry, proper motions, and parallaxes of nearly 2 billion stars in the Milky Way (Gaia Collaboration 2018, 2021, Gaia DR2 andDR3). This exquisite dataset has allowed accurate separations to be obtained between the bulk of the OC members and the background and foreground stars (e.g., Cantat-Gaudin et al 2018Bossini et al 2019;Dias et al 2022).…”
