5G radio access above 6 GHz

Abstract: Designing and developing a millimetre‐wave (mmWave)‐based mobile radio access technology (RAT) in the 6–100 GHz frequency range is a fundamental component in the standardisation of the new 5G radio interface, recently kicked off by 3rd Generation Partnership Project. Such component herein called the new mmWave RAT will not only enable extreme mobile broadband services but also support ultra‐high definition/three‐dimensional streaming, offer immersive applications and ultra‐responsive cloud services to provide … Show more

“…A few 5G use cases have been recognized in various administrative bodies and research programs where there are continuous endeavors to orchestrate them. The absolute most significant use cases that may profit by the millimeter wave advancements, on the entrance, backhaul, or both, are laid out in Figure 1 [10]. In the wide range various groups is reasonable for various use cases.…”

“…Since there is a crucial increase in the number of users due to the rising demand for the smart system applications, the network capacity should be improved to serve the needs of the users. The researchers are predicting that the traffic load will increase approximately 1000 times in the upcoming decade and the existing 4 th Generation (4G) network is not enough to deal with the huge demand [1,2]. Thus, a new generation network called the 5 th Generation (5G) needs to be employed for a new spectrum with much higher bandwidth.…”

“…In addition to this, World broadcast Conference‐2019 and Asia‐Pacific conference preparatory team, /made a specific study on the available frequencies in *the range from 24 to 28 GHz and 37 to 40 GHz bands for millimeter‐wave communications 3 as shown in Figure 1. The overall 5G radio access network with tight integration of architectural elements and functions in millimeter wave technology is discussed in detail 4 . A definitive motivation behind this estimation campaign is to procure a dependable arrangement of information with a fitting goal to propose a wide band, directional channel model for 5G indoor small cell scenarios at 26, 32, and 39 GHz 5 …”
