“…The cultivated eggplant, Solanum melongena L. (Solanaceae), also known as brinjal, is a species of considerable economic importance in many tropical and subtropical parts of the world (2). Recently, it was reported that eggplant fruit (aubergine) or eggplant flower pollen induced immunoglobulin E‐mediated immediate‐type hypersensitivity reactions, such as rhinorrhoea, urticaria, food allergy and asthma (3–5). In contrast, this case seems to be mediated by delayed‐type hypersensitivity reaction, because her symptoms started 1–2 days after each contact and the patch test was positive 2–3 days later.…”
