The problem in this study is the lack of student interest in freestyle swimming. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of swimming learning methods using swimming boards and interest in freestyle swimming skills. This type of research is quantitative using quasi-experimental research with a population of elementary school students in the city of Padang, sampling techniques using random purposive sampling, amounting to 26 people, determining the distribution of groups by matching techniques. The study design was carried out pre-test, then treated for 14 meetings and carried out post-test. The test instrument used was the ability to swim freestyle. By using the normality test (liliefors) and data analysis techniques with the t-test, at a significant level (α = 0.05). Then the results of the study showed that: (1) There was a significant influence between the learning methods using the swimming board on students' interest in freestyle swimming, with the results of t-count (15.37)> t-table (1.81).

Increased swimming speed can be attributed to factors such as improved motor coordination, physical endurance, and possibly other benefits gained through traditional play. This study aims to evaluate the effect of participation in traditional games on increasing freestyle swimming speed in athletes who are members of the Riau Aquatic Swimming Association in Pekanbaru. This study used an experimental approach by dividing athletes into two groups: a group that underwent additional traditional game sessions and a control group that underwent regular training without additional intervention. Swimming speed measurements were carried out before and after the intervention period. The results of the T test in table 4 for the experimental group obtained a calculated T value = 29.665 > T table = 2.052 and a sig value. (2.tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05. The conclusion of the research shows that traditional games have a significant influence on freestyle swimming speed in athletes from the Riau Aquatic Swimming Association, Pekanbaru, Riau Province.

Saat ini kondisi jam sekolah atlet berbenturan dengan jam penggunaan latihan, atlet yang kami miliki hampir semua bersekolah di sekolah negeri yang menerapkan jam sekolah full setengah hari dimana dimulai dari pagi hari yang rata-rata jam masuk sekolah pukul 07.00 Wita. Kemudian keluar sekolah pukul 15.30. belum lagi banyak orang tua yang memberikan pelajaran tambahan terhadap anaknya yang menyebabkan peserta didik mempunyai waktu yang singkat dalam berlatih renang menjadi alsan mengapa penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan pembelajaran berbatuan media video model latihan renang gaya bebas terhadap penguasaan gaya bebas dan kecepatan atlet sekolah dasar. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah quasi-eksperimental design berupa posstest control group design. jumlah populasi penelitian ini adalah 48. Proses pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes dan dokumentasi. Metode analisis data penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial dengan manova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbantuan video model latihan renang gaya bebas berpengaruh terhadap penguasaan renang gaya bebas dan kecepatan renang peserta didik baik secara simultan maupun parsial, hal ini ditunjukkan dnegan niali sig. < 0.05. Dari hasil deskritif data juga diperoleh hasil penelitian berupa variabel kecepatan peserta didik lebih dipengaruhi oleh pembelajaran berbasis youtube dibandingkan variabel pemahaman konsep. Sehingga bisa direkomendasikan bahwa pembelajaran berbantuan video model latihan renang gaya bebas bisa digunkan sebagai salah satu pembelajaran inovatif untuk olahraga renang.
