Abstract

Original research articles, abstracts, reviews, guidelines, protocols and evidences related to the human breast milk and its benefits as well as breastfeeding practices were electronically searched, and freely accessible ones were included. The evidences from the recently published articles till November 2019 have been included. Discussion ColostrumHuman milk secreted from human breasts evolves as colostrum to transitional milk and to mature milk providing nutrition and protection to the infant. Mother's first milk, Colostrum, secreted in initial few days of postnatal period, is a unique bioactive substance, and has immunologic, nutritional, and developmental functions in the neonates [4].
