“…On the southern and western edge of its range, this group overlaps a yellow-green race which is found near the Rio Grande River in Texas and in Coahuila and Chihuahua, Mex-only twice prior to this report, and then only as the glycoside. An "uncharacterized glycoside" was found in pollen in Camellia sinensis (Sakamoto, 1969) and the 3-0-rhamnoside in leaves of Atraphaxis pyrifolia (reported as Artaphaxis) (Polygonaceae) (Chumbalov, Mukhamad'yarova and Omurkamzinova, 1974). The aglycone is identical to the aglycone derived by hydrolysis of 8-acetyl and 8-butyryl-7-O-methylherbacetin which was previously isolated from the farinose exudate of Notholaena affinis (Wollenweber et al, 1978).7,4'-Di-O-methylherbacetin has not been previously found in nature, but is identical to the hydrolysis products of 8-butryl-7,4'-di-0methylherbacetin which was also isolated from N. affinis.…”

“…These compounds exhibit anti-inflammatory and antioxidant attributes, which can be invaluable for addressing inflammatory disorders and promoting overall health and wellness. The anti-inflammatory properties make them particularly attractive for conditions involving excessive inflammation, such as arthritis [ 105 , 106 ]. In addition to polyphenols and triterpenoids, Atraphaxis species may also contain alkaloids with diverse pharmacological actions.…”
