73‐1: Invited Paper: Pediatric Device Use: Implications for Myopia Development

Abstract: Myopia occurs when the eye outgrows its optical power and it's prevalence is on the rise worldwide and is associated with sightthreatening ocular disease. Identified risk factors for myopia development and/or progression include increased near work and reduced time outdoors. Increased pediatric device use and exposure to blue light will be discussed, as well as the novel application of wearable technologies for the identification of potentially myopiagenic behaviors in children.
