Abstract: As a full member of the Postcolonial Studies Association (PSA), his research interests are focused on postcolonial studies and colonialism. His doctoral dissertation examines the relations between the Postcolonial Gothic and Filipino identity in Joaquin's works. He has also studied the concept of place and its relationship to cultural identity. His current project is "The Gothic and Modernist Persian Literature." Dr Abedi is a poet and has five published poetry books and multiple articles in Persian, too.
