Microstructure, texture and superconducting properties of Bi2212 ceramics, deformed by torsion under pressure

“…A small amount of secondary phase (Sr,Ca) 4Ày Bi 2 O z is present in the initial sintered state. The deformed samples almost completely consist of the Bi2212 phase, although according to literature [24] Bi2212 should decompose peritectically in air above 870°C. The preservation of the Bi2212 phase until 940°C is due to an increase of the melting temperature of this phase caused by the applied quasihydrostatic pressure.…”
