Abstract

Job satisfaction is an important factor in the success of a company that can be influenced by the work environment and work motivation. Decreased job satisfaction can be caused by unfavorable working conditions and decreased work motivation for each employee. The purpose of this research is to explain the influence of the work environment on job satisfaction with work motivation as a mediating variable. This research was conducted at PT Bali Food Lestari Badung with a total sample of 81 employees using the Slovin Formula and proportional random sampling method. Data collection was carried out using interviews and distributing questionnaires. The analysis technique used in this research is path analysis and Sobel test. The results showed that the work environment and work motivation each had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and work motivation partially mediating the effect of the work environment on job satisfaction. The better the conditions of the work environment, the work motivation of employees will increase so that it has the potential to increase job satisfaction. The implications of the results of this study theoretically provide support for the Two Factor Theory. Practically, the results of this study have implications for the management of PT Bali Food Lestari Badung to pay more attention to working environment conditions and work motivation in order to be able to increase employee job satisfaction.
