Among these, alkaloids, and more specifically, tropane alkaloids are the ‘signature alkaloids’ and are found as major compounds in different genera of Solanaceae ( Zhang et al., 2023a ) Three main representatives of this group, hyoscyamine, atropine, and scopolamine whose production through hairy root culture have been investigated in detail.…”
