Abstract: The population of Xinjiang arctic graylings (Thymallus arcticus grubei) has dramatically declined in China. A total of 22 polymorphic microsatellite loci were isolated and characterized from AFLP products in the Xinjiang arctic grayling. The number of alleles (Na) per locus varied from 3 to 13. Observed (HO) and expected (HE) heterozygosities ranged from 0.60 to 0.97, and from 0.58 to 0.89, respectively.
