Abstract: Supernumerary teeth or hyperdontia are terms describing an excess in tooth number. It is an anomaly of developing dentition and has got multiple aetiologies. Mesiodens is the most common supernumerary tooth occurring in the palatal midline region. Supernumerary teeth, which duplicate the anatomy of normal dentition, are called supplemental teeth.
