A 17-year-old Boy with Fever, Sore Throat, and Headache

Abstract: <P>This 17-year-old boy was transferred for evaluation of fever, sore throat, and headache. He was well until 3 months prior to admission when he had developed fever and fatigue. Despite five courses of antibiotics, these symptoms continued intermittently for the next 2 months to the point that he was unable to play sports because of fatigue, having reportedly lost 25 pounds.
