A 2 μm Single-Longitudinal-Mode Ho:GdVO4 CW Laser

Abstract

We demonstrate a single-longitudinal-mode Ho:GdVO 4 continuous-wave (CW) laser at 2048.6 nm. We achieved excellent single-longitudinal-mode performance using a unidirectional ring cavity with an isolator and a half-wave plate. We obtain the maximum output power equal to 965 mW corresponding to a slope efficiency of 12.7%.
