A ‘Better Life’? The universal deception of immigrants in the narratives of Driss Chraïbi and J. M. G. Le Clézio

Abstract: At first glance, Driss Chraïbi and J. M. G. Le Clézio are two divergent writers that might seem to have little in common. However, this study attempts to contribute to the wealth of criticism that exists related to both authors by examining a relatively neglected thread that links their distinct narratives together.
