Online education has become the mainstream since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. This paper did a bibliographic review based on VOSviewer and CiteSpace. The author reviewed the definitions, pros and cons for teachers and students, and factors affecting the learning effectiveness of related literature. The author analyzed the mapping of countries, keywords, organizations, authors, and sources of literature about the online education during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Web of Science Core Collection database. The USA and China were the most active countries. Central China Normal University was the most productive institution. Hodges, C. B. and Garrison, D. R. were the authors most cited. Education Sciences, Education, and Information Technologies published the majority of papers. Research hotspot topics were teachers' or students' perceptions, students' satisfaction, students' performance, and students' motivation and engagement. Future educators can explore innovative theoretical paradigms and conduct relevant empirical studies in the post-pandemic era based on this research.

Teaching and learning online is quite challenging. Both require an additional capacity and effort to withstand ongoing engagement in a virtual learning environment. Nonetheless, there have been cases of dissatisfaction with virtual learning environments due to the lack of engagement and poor interaction between the instructor, students, and content, which may affect how students learn online. This study presents a cross-sectional survey that was designed to re-examine the theoretical model of the Community of Inquiry (CoI), and to examine the structure of course satisfaction using SmartPLS 3.3.8 for multivariate statistical analysis. The CoI and the course satisfaction instruments were adapted in this study. The reflections of the CoI are then assumed to form type II second-order constructs to determine their effect on student satisfaction with the course. The findings revealed that teaching, social, and cognitive presence in the CoI have a significant influence on students’ satisfaction with the courses that they are enrolled in. These results provide a direction for further research on the CoI in online learning by extending a framework that incorporates online learners as one of the essential stakeholders in education. Therefore, the results presented here are only applicable to certain courses, and it would be meaningful to investigate academic achievement and motivation, and to compare them between specific courses or subjects to find out which courses have lower or higher levels of presence.

The effects of the superstar learning system on learning interest, attitudes, and academic achievements

The COVID-19 pandemic has contributed to the production of a mobile learning app-the Superstar Learning System. Designed by Superstar Company, the Superstar Learning System is a mobile application for curriculum learning assisted with PPTs, knowledge dissemination, and management sharing based on micro-service architecture. To identify the effects of the Superstar Learning System, we randomly selected 71 tertiary students to participate in the study. The data were obtained through three research instruments: a scale to measure learning interest, a scale to measure learning attitudes, and a scale to measure academic achievements. Based on the analysis of a Mann-Whitney U test, it was concluded that the Superstar Learning System could: (1) enhance significantly more learning interest than the multimedia projecting system, (2) cultivate significantly more positive attitudes of students than the multimedia projecting system, and (3) lead to significantly better academic achievements than the multimedia projecting system. In the future, interdisciplinary cooperation, involving statistics, computer sciences, education, linguistics, and related disciplines, is necessary to arrive at solid conclusions.
