“…While employability is commonly viewed in relation to obtaining and maintaining a job with an employer, in business and administration fields it also has an entrepreneurial dimension of creating work for oneself and others (Fossatti et al, 2023;Rees, 2021;Palmer et al, 2018). Employability is viewed as an antecedent to employment outcomes (Healy et al, 2022), and as an ongoing process of lifelong learning, development, and career management to gain, maintain, and progress in the workplace and navigate the labour market across individuals' employment lifetimes (Cook, 2022;Mahajan et al, 2022;Masduki et al, 2022).…”

“…Bibliometric methods have been used in some review articles so far with a specific focus. Masduki et al (2022) analyzed research trends in graduate employability in their bibliometric study in three sub-periods: 1986-2000, 2001-2010 and 2011-2020. The results show dramatic growth over time and highlight the role of HEIs in improving graduate employability.…”

“…(Byl et al, 2016, p. 2). Although some scholars have employed bibliometric methods to investigate employability, their focus was on only certain periods of time or specific aspects of employability such as outcome-learning for employability (Noori and Azmi, 2021;Raihan and Azad, 2021;Masduki et al, 2022). Therefore, the aim of the current study was to document and analyze trends in research on employability over the past 38 years using a bibliometrics method, thus providing a better and more profound understanding of employability in the period from 1972 to 2019.…”
