A bilateral negotiation model for supply chain

Abstract: Studies about negotiation in logistics has getting more importance in supply chain community. A good agreement is able to bring competitive advantages besides low cost to the organization. This paper discusses some existing heuristic models and proposes a bilateral negotiation model for logistic suppliers in supply chain based on Faratin procedure. It then examines some adjustments to the issues of supply chain and performs simulations to test the consistency of the model.

“…In the context of MAS applications of automated negotiations, Alrayes, Kafali, and Stathis (2016) propose an experimental simulation platform which supports concurrent negotiation interactions among agents. Faratin, Sierra, and Jennings (1998) were precursors followed by many researchers that have developed negotiation models for various industrial fields such as logistic domain, more exactly in supply chain community (Leão and Morais 2011).…”

“…Some authors argue that logistics is the last frontier of the global market [1] and stress the high importance and impact of this area on organizational performances, such as price, quality, availability, quick response, and flexibility in global market [2]. The enhancement of information systems and other computational aspects are provoking some management areas to modify their central activities and, consequently, stimulating logistics to become the core of enterprise management in the 21st century [3].…”
