A Bismuth-Based Metal–Organic Framework for Visible-Light-Driven Photocatalytic Decolorization of Dyes and Oxidation of Phenylboronic Acids

Abstract: In this work, a Bi-based metal−organic framework (MOF; Bi-MMTAA) with 2-mercapto-4-methyl-5-thiazoleacetic acid (MMTAA) as the organic ligand is synthesized. The crystal structure of Bi-MMTAA was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Theoretical calculations reveal that Bi-MMTAA is a p-type semiconductor, and electrons can delocalize through the πconjugation when excited by a photon with an energy higher than the Bi-MMTAA band gap, which is beneficial to charge separation and transfer. The photoelect… Show more

“…The two peaks for Bi-MMTAA-H and Bi-MMTAA-R between 0 and 5 ppm are attributed to the protons of À CH 3 and À CH 2 À . [25] Chemistry-A European Journal Subsequently, confocal Raman spectra for the single-crystals were carried out to confirm that the nitrogen in Bi-MMTAA-H was protonated. As shown in Figure 3b, the CÀ N stretching peaks at 1317 cm À 1 appear in MMTAA and Bi-MMTAA-R, but not in Bi-MMTAA-H.…”

“…An orange product, named as Bi-MMTAA-H, was obtained after filtrating, washing with methanol and acetone several times and drying in an oven at 65 °C for 24 h. The previously reported yellow product, named as Bi-MMTAA-R, was obtained by a reflux method at 100 °C for 24 h under stirring from the same mixture. [25] Deposition Number(s) 2077856 (Bi-MMTAA-H), 2117163 (Bi-MMTAA-R) contain(s) the supplementary crystallographic data for this paper. These data are provided free of charge by the joint Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre and Fachinformationszentrum Karlsruhe Access Structures service.…”

[19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27] In addition, due to the uncontrolled production of greenhouse gases, the average temperature has risen at the fastest rate ever recorded over the past fifty years. 28 Nuclear power is a low-carbon energy source and is one of the carbon-free alternatives.…”
