In this study, it was aimed to examine the use of learning management systems supported by social networking sites in distance education and to determine the views of learners regarding these platforms. The study group of this study, which uses a qualitative research approach, consists of 15 undergraduate students who resumed their education in Turkey. The data were gathered via a semi-structured interview form which consists of open-ended questions. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data.According to the results of the study, it has been revealed within the scope of the course that the students have positive attitudes towards the use of social networking sites and distance education applications and these applications have positively affected the quality of communication between instructors and students. Furthermore, it was seen that the students made comments relating to the interesting aspects of the applications and the difference between distance education and face-to-face learning.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate factors influencing English as foreign language (EFL) learners’ satisfaction using learning management systems (LMS) in blended learning. Design/methodology/approach This study conducted a survey method among 164 intermediate EFL learners of Safir Language Academy in Iran. Survey data were analyzed using the partial least squares (PLS) method, while Smart PLS was used to test the hypotheses and to validate the proposed model. Findings The results indicated that teaching presence, cognitive presence, information quality and system quality affect satisfaction of blended learning. However, there is not a significant relationship between social presence and learners’ satisfaction in blended learning using LMS. Research limitations/implications This study proposes a comprehensive model which has been developed using the indicators of community of inquiry model, system quality and information quality to contribute to our understanding of key factors impacting EFL learners’ satisfaction. Originality/value The outcome will help academic institutions to provide effective English-medium instruction for the enhancement of EFL learners’ satisfaction and a basis for factors influencing EFL learners’ satisfaction in blended learning.

Based on features of high speed of network transmission and easy operations, this thesis covers two aspects to realize network-based management on repairing tool kits of civil aviation engineering maintenance. Firstly, develop a network inquiry system, which can help employees and administrators inquire tool borrowing information. Secondly, a module is designed that has functions to transmit text messages to tool kits borrowers prompting them to return tools at times when the returning date approaches.
