A Brief Review on Nanocomposites based on PVDF with Nanostructured TiO2 as Filler

Abstract: Nanocomposites are based on a combination of two or more nanomaterials. Depending on the selection of the constituents forming the composite, the end properties may be tuned as per requirements. Moreover, the combination of organic and inorganic materials can help improve the composite properties a step further, and thus provide exceptional functionalities. Owing to their exceptional mechanical and thermal stability, titania (TiO 2 ) nanostructures are one of the most commonly used reinforcements. Thus, consid… Show more

“…TiO 2 addition enhances PVDF's mechanical and electrical properties. [19][20][21] In addition, the ceramic fillers occupy more than 50% volume of the polymer matrix, resulting in high dielectric strength and piezoelectric properties. 22 Furthermore, adding a conductive nanofiller can further enhance dielectric strength and piezoelectric properties.…”

“…TiO 2 nano particles are also used to improve the mechanical and electrical properties of PVDF. In PVDF/TiO 2 composite thin lm TiO 2 nano particle are used to enhance the β-phase and piezoelectric properties [5][6][7]. P(VDF-TrFE)/BaTiO 3 nano-composite materials, the BaTiO 3 micro array pillars helps to get constant electrical voltage at energy harvester [8].…”
