This case study offers a new insight into application of multiple-criteria decision-making methods (MCDM) to social identity issues in the context of talent management. This study used MCDM to help a high-tech company to identify potential talents in its sale and marketing team (n=54). MCDM adjusted subjective information consisted of intangible organisational political issues into a transparent, objective benchmark. The transparency and consistency of this evaluation process reduced potential social identity disruption between individuals or groups. Furthermore, the involvement of multiple decision-makers (both managers and employees) in the talent identification procedure enhanced employees' motivation for further development.

In addition to the sustainable development of coastal areas, the success of local corporations investing in coastal urban projects is significantly affected by severe sea level rises and extreme disasters. Investment companies should plan which objectives need to target to reduce uncertainty in the early project stages, track project execution, and assess project output as projects complete the construction phase and start operational activities. To assist enterprises in planning, evaluating, and monitoring project performance aligning with vision and strategy, this study contributes a strategic management tool developed by integrating the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), Analytic Network Process (ANP), and Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) methods. A case study of a well-known investment corporation in Vietnam illustrates the research approach. This research appreciated stakeholder’s satisfaction as the main consequence and human resource as the most prominent cause of coastal urban projects. Furthermore, the proposed model for Vietnam in this study could be referred by other developing countries to facilitate companies to plan, measure, evaluate, and control the organizational performances for the coastal urban project success.

In the present era of globalization, outsourcing proves to be one of the prominent and emerging business practices widely adopted by the firms around the world in order to stay competitive. The academic literature on outsourcing in the Indian context mostly deals with the outsourcing of information technology/information systems (IT/IS) and business process outsourcing (BPO) that are outsourced to Indian IT firms by the multinational companies (MNCs) located abroad. However, studies on outsourcing practices followed by the Indian firms may be inadequate in the extant literature. It was observed that the decision of outsourcing is often taken in an aggressive manner with an emphasis on short-term cost advantage rather than giving due consideration in realizing the significant contribution of such decisions over the long-term competitiveness of the organization. The present study provides a structured approach to analyze the suitability of outsourcing in line with the organizational strategy for performance improvement for the coal mining organization in India.
