Abstract:Shiga-toxin in patient stool samples. However, these syndromes are particularly difficult to diagnose due to the number of false-negative outcomes. Here, we report a case of ST-HUS with an O-157 infection that was diagnosed via a serum anti-lipopolysaccharide (LPS) antibody and could not be otherwise diagnosed by stool culture. Serum anti-LPS antibody examinations may be essential in clinically suspected STEC infections.
