A Case of Solitary Neurofibroma of the Lower Lip

Abstract

Neurofibroma is characterized as a benign, slow-growing neoplasm, originating from schwann cells or fibroblasts in peripheral sheaths. It may appear as a solitary tumor or have multiple localizations in von Recklinghausen disease. The solitary neurofibroma involves the skin most frequently and the oral mucosa rarely. The case of neurofibroma in lower lip has not been reported in Korea. Therefore, we report a case of solitary neurofibroma of the lower lip in a 69-yearold man, who was successfully treated by surgery.
