A Case of Superficial Collagenous Fibroma and Review of the Literature

Abstract: Observation: Collagenous fibroma (desmoplastic fibroblastoma) is a rare and benign soft tisue tumor, affecting mainly men in their 5th through 7th decades. These lesions are well-circumscribed, slow-growing, firm, and painless masses of 1-15 cm diameter with oval, fusiform or disc shape. The tumor consists of hypocellular proliferation of the spindle to stellate-shaped mesenchymal cells, embedded in a hyalinized collagenous stroma.
