A Case Report Depicting an Implant-Supported Prosthetic Rehabilitation of an immunocompromised Patient with a Bilateral Subtotal Maxillectomy Defect Secondary to Mucormycosis

Abstract: Prosthodontic rehabilitation of patients with subtotal maxillary resection involving the maxillae, hard and soft palates, and paranasal sinuses presents a significant challenge in restoring speech, deglutition, mastication, and respiration. This clinical report describes the prosthodontic management of a patient who developed mucormycosis subsequent to second molar extraction. Zygomatic and pterygoid implants were used to provide retention, support, and stability of a definitiveobturator.
