A Case Report of Acupotomy Treatment on the Oculomotor Nerve Palsy Patient

Abstract

Background: The aim of this report is to report the effect of Acupotomy on Oculomotor Nerve Palsy. Methods: A 78-year-old male patient was diagnosed with Oculomotor Nerve Palsy and complained of Diplopia, right eye movement disorder. This patient received acupuncture treatment on the anterior border of posterior tubercle of cervical transverse process, upper border of right zygomatic arch, right Jingming acupoint (BL1). Results: As a result of 20 acupotomy treatments from November 14 to February 20, adduction in the right eye completely improved, and the diplopia which occurred when looking to the left also disappeared. Conclusion:This study suggests that acupotomy treatment may be effective in eye movement disorder caused by oculomoter nerve palsy and diplopia.
