Abstract: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are rare tumors accounting for 0.1-3% of gastrointestinal (GI) neoplasms. In the past, GIST was classified as leiomyomas, leiomyosarcomas, and leiomyoblastomas.
